I read a tweet this morning that I will share part of from @kejames:

Take special care to keep yourselves, children, seniors, and pets hydrated during the winter…

If it is 10*F with 70% humidity outside it doesn’t sound all that dry now does it?  The problem comes in when you heat the indoor temperature up to 68*F and now the indoor humidity drops to 7%.  The driest place on earth, the Atacama desert has a mean humidity of 17%, so yeah you are basically now living in your own little desert paradise.  Pump the liquids, use lotions and lip balms, feed the pets wet foods if you can too.

She adds a few tips for adding a bit of moisture to the house too-

  1. Open the bathroom door when showering
  2. Air dry laundry in the bedroom
  3. Vent your dryer into the house instead of outdoors in winter
  4. Open the dishwasher as soon as it stops to release steam
  5. Boil up some good winter soups and enjoy
  6. A humidifier should go without saying, but I will say it

No one needs the most interesting man in the world to pop in and say “Stay thirsty my friends”
